Meet Shanae Adams, a dedicated therapist committed to guiding individuals toward a healthier and more fulfilling life.
Shanae Adams, MA, CST, LPC, NCC, ADDC, CIGT, is a Clinical Sexologist from Denver, CO. They are a Taurus sun, moon, and Virgo rising. While pursuing their Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Missouri, they served as a Sexual Health Advocate Peer Educator on campus. In this group, they discovered a passion for sex education and an adept ability to present these topics with a unique flair and an engaging personality. Shanae created HonestlyNae LLC for their normalization, explanation, and melanated representation mission. Since its inception in 2017, HonestlyNae has conducted over 5,000 hours of education, presented at over 200 professional conferences, been featured on numerous blogs, podcasts, and educational outlets, and conducted several professional development seminars. HonestlyNae is a sought voice for sexuality topics related to identity, pleasure, intersection, kink/fetish, sex work, trauma, and Queer, Trans*, Indigenous, Black, and People of Color issues.
Shanae received their Master's in Clinical Counseling from Adams State University in 2020. They felt called to get this degree due to the comfort and openness their participants experienced in workshops. It was not uncommon for Shanae to be approached by attendees and asked to hold space for their vulnerable feelings. They did their best, but Shanae felt there was a level of support the community asked of them that they did not have the tools to deliver. Their private practice, MAI Therapeutic Services, stands on three pillars: Manifest, Affirm, and Intent. Shanae believes their clients have the power to manifest a reality in which they can thrive and that therapy can be an intentional space to focus on that work. Shanae’s role is to support and affirm their clients on that journey.
Shanae brings the same openness and engagement to their therapeutic clients and dynamic workshops. Their therapeutic modalities are client-centered, somatic, and Indigenous approaches. Many of their clients struggle with millennial issues, identity difficulties, sexuality-related concerns, and feeling like they have more potential to reach.
